Next I needed to make a google drawings and made my own Santa costume. It said you can add stuff like that connects to you or where you live and the weather. I looked outside and saw it was sunny so I put that on my Santa costume and also I put my pounamu on the Santa costume! Here is my work

SLJ 2020-2021 Kick Start Art

 Kia Ora,

Today I am sharing with you my first SLJ blog for this year. SLJ means Summer learning journey. Today I did a drawing, it was already outlined and there was the picture of the original and I got to do my own. I picked a dark background and kind of a bight outfit. The instructions were: Watch a vid on how to do it. Make your drawing and take a screenshot of original and my one. I then found out who drew it and wrote it down. I also wrote down why I picked my colors.

Thank you all for looking at my blog, I hope you have a spectacular day! Comment if you want.

Ballet poem!

 Kia Ora,

Today I am sharing with you my amazing ballet poem. We are doing this because my school thought we deserve a treat and bought the whole school tickets to a ballet show in town! We first got to watch videos and learn interesting facts like how ballerina's use to perform with operas! After that we then made a poem that was actually hard to rhyme with. After we got an example and got to work to do kinda the same thing! Here is my work:

Social sciences

 Kia Ora my amazing readers,

Today I am sharing with you my amazing work. The past weeks we have been working on social sciences for topic. Social sciences is like explaining what stuff is and what it's about. Here is an example: Thanks giving is a special day that some countries celebrate by having a thanks giving dinner.

I can't really explain social sciences so here is googles way of explaining it: Social science is an academic discipline concerned with society and the relationships among individuals within a society, which often rely primarily on empirical approaches. It includes anthropology, economics, political science, psychology and sociology.

Thank you so much for looking at my blog. Have a amazing day! Comment if you want.

ATHLETICS

Kia Ora,

Today I am sharing my fun athletics day with you. For athletics there is shot put, Discus, sprints, distance running, high jump and long jump. My favorite one has to be distance running because we can do as many as we want. On the day when we did all the athletics M's T didn't do sprints so the next day we all sat down and we were watching the little kids do their run and then it came to ours. I had bad luck because I was in the same line as the fastest girl in my school my best friend Temera.

I don't know how but I made it to finals vs all the other girls that made it, the next race started and I was going against all the fast girls in year 6. The good thing is... I WON!!!!! I made it across the line and a teacher came and gave me a plastic bear and told me to go to this other teacher with the winner board. They put my name down and I ran to my mum and told her.

Fixing a surface features writing!

G'day my amazing readers,

In room 9 we are learning to fix a surface features. Surface features are a little bit in the writing that we need to fix. Surface is punctuation spelling repeated words. We are doing this to improve in our writing by rereading it and fixing the mistakes in our writing.
An example is: thissentsaChulymakessen Zbuttisrellyhrd to reed. The sentence has no surface features. We also changed our writing because there were to many of the same words.

On the room 9 site weekly writing there is a link that takes you to a document that we made a copy of the document. And then starting fixing the mistakes. Here is the instructions and the document:

Reading 1

Find the ends of the sentences.

To do this:

Look for each time a person or thing is mentioned again.

Look for when a new piece of information is given.

Think about where you pause to make sense of what you are reading.

Reading 2

Highlight the most repeated word.

Can you fix it?

Reading 3

Does this feel easier to read now?

How many sentences start the same way?

Kai kept absolutely still as the footsteps got louder. He tried not to suffocate as he laid under the bed. He was wondering what had happened to his brother and his family. The man with the knife in his hand stormed around the house.

Mum has had boyfriends before but we had not thought that they would ever find us. Maybe Elijah was one of them looking for revenge, but why would he come? Mum would just move and how did he find us? We live on the other side of the planet from where all of mum’s boyfriends were. So how could Elijah find us. He might have put a tracker on mum when he last saw her or on one of her devices.

‘Hello where are you? I know you're here. You're going to tell me where your mother is or you shall join your father... in the skies so which will it be, death or freedom! You have 10 seconds to choose wisely’.

Birthday party writing

 Kia Ora,

Today I am sharing with you my amazing descriptive writing about a birthday picture. For writing this term we are still using language features. The picture we are describing is a picture from a birthday party. Here is my writing and the picture:

I see: I see the little girl on the side out of the photo eating the cake like if she didn’t eat the cake she would explode. I see people wearing puletaha. People holding little kids

I hear: I hear little kids crying like “ waaaaaa” not wanting to be in the picture. I put a timer on the phone “321” and run into the frame. ‘Bang’ a balloon pops behind us and the girl sitting down screams, she was so embarrassed she wanted to stick her face in the cake.

I smell: I smell the fancy perfume from the girls standing up. The smell of the food swimmed around us.
