Skittles!

 Kia ora,

Today I am doing for science skittle art! Skittle art is when you use water and some skittles and then it is suppose to make the water turn into different colours. 

Aim: To use water to extract the dye from skittles using the process of chromatography.

Materials: 

1. 5 Skittles 

2. Water

3. Petri dish

4. Beaker

Process:

Step 1: Place the skittles in the peri dish around the edges.

Step 2: Pour 100ml water  gently into the middle of the peri dish.

Step 3: Watching the dye move in the middle.

Conclusion:

Why do they bleed out at the same rate? They bleed out the same because when they were made they add the exact same amount of colour. 
Why do the colours not mix together? They don't mix together because they are sorta different I don't really know why.
