SLJ 2020-2021 Kick Start Art

 Kia Ora,

Today I am sharing with you my first SLJ blog for this year. SLJ means Summer learning journey. Today I did a drawing, it was already outlined and there was the picture of the original and I got to do my own. I picked a dark background and kind of a bight outfit. The instructions were: Watch a vid on how to do it. Make your drawing and take a screenshot of original and my one. I then found out who drew it and wrote it down. I also wrote down why I picked my colors.

Thank you all for looking at my blog, I hope you have a spectacular day! Comment if you want.

  1. Kia Ora Victoria,

My name is Shannon, and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.

You’ve given so much thought to your painting and it’s come out absolutely splendid. You’re absolutely right that the pink bow and blue eyes make the monkey stand out more. It definitely does rather than fading into the background. I also agree wholeheartedly that red and yellow are really pretty together. I like how you’ve inversed the original painting’s red and yellow to make the red the dominant colour in yours. I think it stands out much better now and Frida Kahlo looks very regal.

Frida Kahlo has done an incredible job painting herself. Have you ever drawn or painted a self-portrait of yourself? If so, what would you include in the background? Would you put bows in your hair?

You’ve done an amazing job, keep up the great work!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Thank you Shannon for commenting on my blog.

Thank you for including how you felt about my coloring. I agree Frida Kahlo had done really awesome work! I do quite enjoy drawing and when I draw an image I like to add some trees and maybe the moon or sun. Thanks again! Have a amazing day!
